Green Wien

A Solarpunk vision of Vienna in 2040

How would Vienna look one and a half decades from now if we learn to deal with the climate crisis and adopt many sustainable solutions? What if my children could play in meadows without crossing a road, if we had sufficient renewable energy and if my fruits and vegetables didn’t have to travel long distances? Many answers to these questions can be found on the lush green roofs of Vienna.

The 'Green Wien' project is an independent media initiative creating a sustainable vision for the city of Vienna. The goal is to emphasize the integration of green spaces, sustainable technologies, and architectural innovations to foster a harmonious coexistence between urban living and nature.

What is Solarpunk?

Solarpunk is not just an aesthetic movement; it's a vision for a positive future. In contrast to the dystopian narratives often found in Steampunk or Cyberpunk genres, Solarpunk envisions a world where humanity lives in harmony with both technology and nature.

Unlike Cyberpunk, which often critiques society with a cynical lens, depicting megacities in desolate landscapes, Solarpunk strives to create a world where people genuinely want to live. It rejects climate pessimism and capitalist realism, focusing on creating a hardcore positive future.

"Solar" refers to the use of renewable energy, and "Punk" signifies a rejection of the established zeitgeist. It's a movement for social justice and inclusion, aiming to make cities accessible and livable for everyone, regardless of their background or social status.

Realizing the Solarpunk vision requires collaboration and engagement. Individuals, communities, governments, and businesses can work together to create sustainable solutions. It's about sharing ideas, learning from each other, and implementing innovative projects.

Solarpunk is not a fantasy; the technologies and solutions already exist. The challenge is to implement them widely, and everyone can discover new applications for a sustainable future.

Gold Of The Desert

Tania Saedi shows her acting talent in the music video for her song “Gold of the Desert”. Without make-up, she tries to grasp the feeling of self-discovery. In a chase through an endless forest, lost and search party merge and lose themselves in Magritte-inspired surreal imagery.

Herrenschatz

Many years of experience in the fields of design, textiles, architecture and business motivated the founders to found the Herrenschatz brand. The designers only create and produce what they live by themselves and only share what they love. In the so-called Herrenschatz design power factory in a historic industrial hall in the middle of Düsseldorf, genuine one-of-a-kind items are created for men - handmade, unique and extremely comfortable to wear. HERRENSCHATZ Work & Leisure Wear includes men's worlds with a strong character - from products made of raw work denim, genuine leather, high-quality woolen fabrics, natural linen and cotton to solid silver jewelery and solid shoes.

Herrenschatz is much more than just fashion, rather it is a philosophy of life and attitude to life that is expressed through our products. This philosophy of life can be experienced in the Experience Store.

5k HD

When 5K HD presented their debut album "And To In A" in 2017, a band appeared out of nowhere that was immediately referred to as a supergroup - all musicians are no strangers and fused a live force that created a mood at pop festivals and were celebrated as virtuoso sound inventors at jazz festivals. Hardly any other band is so free, takes so much liberty and manages this musical balancing act. 5K HD sounds futuristic, fragile, epic, brutal, playful, menacing, cinematic, distorted, loosely flaky, dope, bad ass, sensitive. 5K HD is a catchy and euphorically disturbing pop and high culture experiment that's entirely laptop-less, even if it often sounds like the opposite. The skills and background of these musicians is so wide and deep that they can actually do whatever they want. It's one of those bands that you don't reasonably ask what kind of music they make.

Matteo Molina was shooting a video for SUPERIOR by Schmieds Puls, a solo project of front singer Mira Lu Kovacs.

Followed by that, PICKS connected with 5k HD to shoot the video to "In, Out".

"We tried to film the band as if they were trapped in the device you're watching it on. Whether on a mobile phone, a tv or in a cinema, the singer looks ready to burst through the glass at any moment." Samuel Traber - video director.

In the follow-up project, we wanted to draw attention to modern devices again. Strictly speaking, electronic scrap. We also wanted to try something new with new media: virtual reality. Read more in our "Make you need me" article.

DR.ONE

In the early stages of drone racing around 2016 we got in touch with the FPV Airmasters, an austrian based drone racing club. This stuff is pretty starwars. An untouched creative field for uninvented sports and competitions, with a completely new kind of athletes.

After a year of underground drone events we had a shot with Red Bull to create their first drone racing.

At the "e- mobility days" at the famous formula 1 race track in spielberg we designed a three dimensional racing track with fire, water and wind traps to let the best fpv- racers worldwide compete with each other.
